Emmy winner Greg Daniels, the mind behind The Office and Parks and Recreation, is returning to television with a sci-fi afterlife comedy for Amazon Prime.
Robbie Amell (The Flash) stars as Nathan, an app developer who dies after a terrible accident and has to choose between surgery or dying with digital immortality. He chooses the latter and his consciousness is “uploaded” into a virtual afterlife.
The 10-episode series will follow Nathan’s journey in the glamorous afterlife community of “Lakeside” where his girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) and her family-bought property, while another woman, Nora (Andy Allo), takes a liking to him. In this fantasy world, Nathan will have everything he ever wanted including a talking dog, as long as he can pay for it via in-app purchases.
Upload will be released on Amazon Prime on May 1.
