New “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Movie in Works at Paramount

2014's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"

Did you miss Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, and Leonardo? Well, you might see them soon on the big screen again, since a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is in the work at Paramount.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount hired Andrew Dodge to pen the script with Michael Bay’s production company Platinum Dunes being behind the project. Dodge is known for writing 2013’s comedy Bad Words which starred and was directed by Jason Bateman, while Platinum Dunes most recently produced movies A Quiet Place and The First Purge.

This will be the third Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming from Paramount. First one was 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles directed by Jonathan Liebesman, and starring Megan Fox, Will Arnett, William Fichtner and Whoopi Goldberg. Johnny Knoxville, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard and Tony Shalhoub provided voices for Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo and their mentor Splinter respectively. The movie was poorly received by the critics, but eventually became a box office which prompted Paramount to release a sequel in 2016 title Out of the Shadows.

The sequel received slightly better reviews but wasn’t a commercial success as the first movie. While the majority of the actors signed on to make a third movie and expressed interest to return, it remains unknown whether any of them will return for this new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
