Killers of the Flower Moon is one of the most anticipated new films of the year, and Martin Scorsese just added some more fuel to the fire. The new trailer for this epic Western stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone and gives us a closer look at this poignant story.
According to the film’s official synopsis, Flower Moon takes place at the turn of the 20th century, when oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight… but their wealth immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder.
In addition to DiCaprio and Gladstone, Flower Moon will also star Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, and Tantoo Cardinal in supporting roles. It marks the sixth collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio and the tenth between Scorsese and De Niro.
Killers of the Flower Moon had its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, where it was met with widespread critical acclaim and a nine-minute standing ovation. It will be released by Paramount Pictures in select theaters on October 6, before going wide on October 20. This project is also set for a streaming release on Apple TV+, but the date is still unspecified.
