Black Mirror is one of the darkest shows we ever came across, but that could change during season 5. Creator Charlie Brooker recently confirmed this mind-bending series will take a more positive turn the next time around.

Season 5 of Black Mirror is coming to Netflix in 2019, and it will feature several episodes with a positive outcome. San Junipero, Hang the DJ and USS Callister were the only ones that went down this road in the past, and they were all an absolute delight.

Brooker is looking forward to exploring this territory in the future and showing his viewers that the technology can lead to something good, after all.

“We’re doing more optimistic episodes and stories, rather than just dystopian and negative ones. We want to keep the show interesting for us,” explained Brooker.

This announcement comes shortly after Black Mirror broke new ground with its first standalone film Bandersnatch. This revolutionary project lets viewers choose their own adventure, and some are predicting it could change the way we watch TV forever.
