Nick Fury is one of the MCU’s most iconic supporting characters, and it was just a matter of time before he finally got his turn in the spotlight. That moment is finally here, and he’s leading the way in the first trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion.

Described as “the crossover event series”, Secret Invasion will see Fury join forces with some of his former allies in an attempt to defeat a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.

Samuel L. Jackson will lead the series as Nick Fury, with Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Charlayne Woodard, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Don Cheadle, and Martin Freeman in supporting roles.

It’s been a few years since we’ve seen Jackson play Nick Fury, and he’s happy to return to this iconic role. He always enjoyed playing the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director because he’s not your typical hero.

“A lot of times, having no conscience and going by ‘any means necessary’ is better than being the good guy… Nick walks that line. He makes the hard choices all the time. And that comes from him being in the shadow world where survival is what counts,” he told Vanity Fair.

Secret Invasion will start streaming on Disney+ on June 21, and it’s expected to feature a total of six episodes.
