It looks like we will have to wait a bit more for the new album from Nicki Minaj. The 35-year-old rapper recently announced that her new studio release, titled Queen, is coming on June 15th. On Thursday, however, Minaj decided to push back the release date and drop the album on August 10th.

“Anaconda” rapper shared this information with her Instagram followers during an Instagram Live session.

“The album itself I think I want to put out on August 10. I want to put out my second single, which I’m really, really excited about, and I want to now start an official countdown,”  Minaj said.

“I love my label, but I’m happy that I’ve always been blessed to have the freedom and the creativity to do what I want when I want how I want it. Trust me, it’s the better choice.” she added.

Elsewhere in the video, Minaj revealed that she is preparing surprises for her fans, between June 11th-15th, including the reveal of the Queen’s album cover. She also announced she will embark on a tour in support of the album in September.

Nicki Minaj also went on Twitter and confirmed the decision to change the release date.

Queen will be Minaj’s fourth studio album, and first since 2014’s The Pinkprint. She already presented two singles from the album, “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz,” in early April. You can listen to both tracks below.
