Nicki Minaj Docuseries Heads to HBO Max

Rapper Nicki Minaj is heading to HBO Max.

HBO Max has ordered a six-episode docuseries with Minaj, which will tell her personal and professional journey with everything from her rise to fame to her experience in motherhood.

“It’s going to give you guys a raw unfiltered look at my personal life and my professional journey and I can’t wait to share it with you,” said Minaj when announcing the series.

News of the show was announced on the 10th anniversary of the release of Minaj’s debut album Pink Friday.

Michael John Warren, who made his directorial debut with Jay-Z’s 2004 movie Fade to Black, will be directing the project. Warren has previously worked with Minaj on two documentaries. Minaj is set to executive produce with Warren and Aaron L. Gilbert, Brenda Gilbert and Cassandra Butcher for BRON Life, and Irving Azoff and Tommy Bruce in association with Creative Wealth Media.

“Nicki Minaj is a multi-faceted artist, businesswoman, and innovator as well as force to be reckoned with. It’s a privilege to bring this project to HBO Max and provide our viewers with unprecedented access to her life,” said Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max.
