Nicki Minaj’s new album Queen dropped last week, and she found a perfect way to celebrate its release. The hip-hop goddess shared a visually stunning new video for the opening track Ganja Burn. It tells the tale of the Generous Queen seeking revenge against her enemies.

The clip kicks off with a few lengthy title cards, explaining the story of the fallen queen. She ruled her kingdom with grace until her enemies banded together and found a way to overthrow her. After her “deep sleep” is over, the Queen comes back to life stronger than ever and tells her army to kill everything in sight.

Minaj is then seen emerging from the dead, moving through the sand-filled desert and reuniting with her followers. As the video goes on, she ends up dancing her way into more sophisticated attire fit for a true queen. If it looks extremely familiar, there’s a reason why. It’s the same outfit she rocked on her majestic album cover, designed by video directors Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Nicki’s new record left a lot of fans puzzled with some of its lyrics that seem to be dissing other artists. Controversial track Barbie Dreams is one of the most significant examples, but there are many notable jabs in Ganja Burn, as well. Minaj likes to keep the world wondering, and she managed to create an air of mystery with this epic track.
