After rocking our world with their duet “Princess Diana”, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice are gearing up for another collaboration. The duo recorded a new song titled “Barbie World” for Greta Gerwig’s upcoming movie about our favorite doll, and they finally revealed its release date.
“Barbie World” will be released on June 23, about a month ahead of the film’s release in July. The two rappers shared a short snippet on social media, which is heavily based on Aqua’s iconic song “Barbie Girl”. The members of the Danish band will also be credited as performers alongside Minaj and Ice Spice.
This marks the second collaboration between the duo, following the success of “Princess Diana”. Minaj hopped on the remix of this song back in April and helped it soar to new heights, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart after its debut.
Barbie: The Album will be packed with talent, and we’ve already got to hear several songs from this record: “Dance the Night” by Dua Lipa, “Watati” by Karol G and Aldo Ranks, and “Angel” by PinkPantheress. Many more beloved artists recorded new music for this soundtrack, including Lizzo, Charli XCX, Ava Max, Fifty Fifty, Haim, and Tame Impala.
