The 37-year-old rapper is pregnant with her first child.
To make the announcement, Minaj posted a photo on Instagram in a bathing suit captioning it “#Preggers” and in another photo, she captioned it, “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes. 💛”
Fans weren’t surprised by the reveal, as they’ve thought she was pregnant for months. Back in May during a Q&A session on Twitter Minaj told a fan that she’s been craving red meat and salad with “extra jalapeños” and another follower commented that she’s probably experiencing morning sickness.
“Lmao,” Minaj replied. “No throwing up. But nausea and peeing non stop. Omg what do u think this means guys???? Lmaooooooooooo.”
The father is Minaj’s husband Kenneth Perry, who she married in 2019. When describing her marriage in an interview on Lil Wayne’s Apple Music Series, Young Money Radio with Lil Wayne she said, “I can’t complain. I really cannot complain,” she said. “I didn’t think it would be as refreshing and calming as it is. Even if you’re not married, when you have someone that feels like your soulmate or someone who understands you, it just makes you feel like you’re on top of the world.”
Minaj’s music has been doing extremely well this year—her remix with Doja Cat’s for “Say So” and her track with 6x9ine, “Trollz,” were her first songs to hit No. 1. Her last album, Queen was released in 2018.
