On-screen, Freddie Krueger may be the last face any sane person would wish to see in a dream, but it seems that meeting him off-screen could be actually a very nice experience. Robert Englund who played the serial killer in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise made an ill fan’s wish come true and met him for a memorable day.

The actor was reached by the make a wish foundation and flew to Illinois to meet 18 years old Henry, a fan who is fighting a rare disease. Henry watched the horror movie while sick in bed and wished to meet the man behind the mask.

Freddy Krueger is Englund’s best-known character after he portrayed him in 8 movies over the years. At the beginning of his career, the actor appeared in various TV series and films, often alongside actors such as Jeff Bridges and Susan Sarandon. Since then he appeared in various horror projects such as The Mangler2001 Maniacs, and The Phantom of the Opera. He is set to host Shadows of History, a new series in Travel Channel.
