If you ever wanted to suit up as one of the DC’s superheroes, now is your chance. The film Nightwing is currently in the works, and its director Chris McKay had an interesting idea about finding the actor to portray Dick Grayson aka Nightwing. He confirmed on his Twitter profile that there will be an open casting call for the lead role.

“Re Nightwing Casting. Have an agent or manager submit your work. To the studio. An agent or manager protects you and also is an endorsement of your character. It means you take yourself and your career seriously… and so does someone else.” wrote McKay. “There will be an open casting call but that is like Vegas odds for sure. Don’t leave your career up to chance. Believe in yourself. Bet on yourself. Get an agent or a manager.”

There have been few names already linked with the role, including American Horror Story’s Finn Wittrock and Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery. One thing is for sure, casting process for the movie hasn’t started yet and according to McKay “search will be far and wide”.

After directorial debut with The Lego Batman Movie, Chris McKay was attached to directing Nightwing in February 2017 with Ozark’s Bill Dubuque writing the script.

Nightwing is most commonly associated with Batman comics as the identity that Dick Grayson takes after he moves from his role as the first Robin. The character was featured in monthly solo series from 1996 to 2005. Aside from Dick Grayson, various other DC characters have taken the name of the character as well.
