Nikki Reed Thinks Being Pregnant Makes A Woman A ‘Better Version’ Of Herself

Some women speak blissfully of their pregnancy, others feel it can be an ordeal – actress Nikki Reed thinks that it’s the best thing ever!

Reed has a unique viewpoint on why she feels pregnancy is such a blessing, and it’s refreshing to hear!

Expecting A Little Bundle Of Joy

At 29-years-old, Nikki Reed has accomplished a lot. An entrepreneur with fashion companies like Bayou With Love as well as a famed actress with a notable role in the Twilight saga, she’s no stranger to the spotlight.

Recently, though, Reed hasn’t been seen out on the town as much with her husband, Ian Somerhalder, the 38-year-old star of Vampire Diaries. The reason? The couple has been busy expecting their first child!

“I’m A Better Version Of Myself”

While some women might view pregnancy as the thing you have to get through in order to get the child you ultimately want, Reed feels completely different.

“Ian jokes that he wants to keep me pregnant forever. I’m a very driven person with lots of energy. I can run multiple companies, read four books at once, and take a conference call while cooking dinner. But pregnant, I’m a better version of myself,” Reed shared in an interview. “I’m really chill and relaxed, which I think is the greatest blessing.”

Reed announced her pregnancy by appearing on the cover of the magazine Fit Pregnancy and Baby, and she had some profound observations about being pregnant.

A New Appreciation For Her Body

Reed feels that being pregnant hasn’t limited her in any way. She’s starting a new company that she’s dreamed of for years, and says that she feels “better than ever.”

Beyond feeling good, she thinks that being pregnant has given her a totally new perspective on life and her body.

“I want to write my pregnant body love letters,” said Reed. “It’s so f–king cool!”

Reed and husband Somerhalder are keeping the sex of their baby a surprise, and they’re also planning on doing a “month of silence” after the baby is born so that they can appreciate the experience without any distractions. That means no phones and no visitors – just the family of three.

If you take Reed’s word for it, being pregnant sounds pretty awesome!
