So good, apparently, that we didn’t even realize they “despised” each other.
Two years after The Vampire Diaries came to an end, we are still finding out secrets from behind the supernatural scenes, thanks to stars of the show.
During the latest episode of the Directionally Challenged podcast, hosted by Vampire Diaries stars Candice King and Kayla Ewell, Nina revealed that she definitely did not have a thing for Paul who played her love interest Stefan on The CW series.
“Paul and I didn’t get along at the beginning of the show,” said the actress who played Elena. “I respected Paul Wesley, I didn’t like Paul Wesley.”
“I remember everyone would walk up to me after the show aired and they’d be like, ‘Are you and Paul dating in real life?’ Because everyone thought that we had such good chemistry,” she recalled. “And we despised each other so much, that it read as love. We really just didn’t get along the first maybe five months of shooting.”
Despite the rough start, the two put aside their differences and now consider each other really good friends. They even hang out.
