Hulu managed to create a lot of buzz for their latest mini-series Nine Perfect Strangers, and people were certainly paying attention. Shortly after its premiere, the high-profile series set the record as the most-watched Hulu original since the inception of this streaming service.
Nine Perfect Strangers is off to a strong rating start, and it set the record on its premiere day and kept the no. 1 spot after five days on the service. As usual, Hulu failed to release any actual viewership numbers, so we’ll have to take their word for it until Nielsen releases their streaming ratings.
Nine Perfect Strangers is based on Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, and its star-studded cast is led by Nicole Kidman. This project sees the Oscar-winning actress joining forces with David E. Kelley, who previously developed her shows Big Little Lies and The Undoing.
Nine Perfect Strangers is set in a seemingly perfect wellness resort, where nine strangers gather for a 10-day retreat and quickly come to learn this place is not what it seems. In addition to Kidman, this mini-series also stars Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Samara Weaving, Regina Hall, and Bobby Cannavale.
