Awards season is in full swing, which means that nominations and acceptance speeches are hurtling left, right, and centre as we make our way towards the grand finale that is the Academy Awards on the 24th of February.

But before the most coveted prizes are handed out must be announced the prize which no actor ever wants to win.

The dreaded Golden Raspberry, or Razzie Awards.

The awards recognise the “achievements” of the worst that the industry had to offer during the year, in juxtaposition to its Oscar sister.

It does not mean, however, that winning a Razzie makes an actor or actress bad at their craft as Sandra Bullock proved in 2010 when she won the Razzie for All About Steve a day before winning her Best Actress Oscar for The Blind Side.

The feat could (unlikely) be repeated by Melissa McCarthy who is nominated for a Razzie for both The Happytime Murders and Life of the Party, and an Oscar for Can You Ever Forgive Me?

Here’s holding thumbs for the nominees come February 23rd.
