Netflix has been doing a pretty great job creating the buzz for their new show Wednesday and they added some more fuel to the fire by sharing the official trailer. The new look at the spooky series shows Jenna Ortega channeling her inner Wednesday Addams and introduces us to a few new exciting characters.
According to its official logline, this show follows Wednesday Addams during her years as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago.
The new official trailer shows Wednesday navigating her life at Nevermore and offers the first look at several key characters. Fred Armisen is shown playing Uncle Fester, while Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values back in the ’90s, appears as a newly introduced original character Marilyn Thornhill.
The cast of this highly-anticipated series also includes Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), and Gwendoline Christie (Principal Larissa Weems). Wednesday comes from the mind of Tim Burton who serves as a co-creator alongside Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and it’s set to premiere on Netflix on November 23.
