The Society actress, Olivia DeJonge, has officially been added to the cast of Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley biopic.
The Australian actress will portray Priscilla Presley opposite Austin Butler’s Presley, and alongside Tom Hanks as the King’s manager, Tom Parker.
“Olivia is capable of manifesting the complex depth and presence that has made Priscilla Presley an icon in her own right,” Luhrmann said. “She’s an extremely talented young actor and the perfect counterpoint to Austin’s Elvis.”
Per Deadline, the film will chronicle the singer’s rise to fame and will center on the most significant and influential people in his life including Parker and his wife, Priscilla.
Luhrmann will direct from a script he co-wrote with Craig Pearce. The film will shoot early next year in Queensland, Australia.
The film hits theaters October 1, 2021.
