It’s been over a month since Olivia Rodrigo entered our lives with her breakout hit “Drivers License”, and we haven’t stopped listening to it ever since. This song recently clocked its fifth week atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart despite facing tough competition.

“Drivers License” was originally released on January 8th, and it quickly went on to establish itself as the first runaway hit of 2021. No other single managed to dock it from the no. 1 spot ever since its debut when Rodrigo became the youngest artist to debut atop Billboard Hot 100.

The triumph of “Drivers License” this week is especially significant because its competition was tougher than ever. Cardi B’s new single “Up” created a lot of buzz, but still only managed to take the second spot. The Weeknd was right behind with “Blinding Lights” and “Save Your Tears”, which received a major boost after his recent Super Bowl performance.

“Drivers License” also currently stands atop the Billboard Global 200 chart, and it reached no. 1 in many countries around the world including Australia, Canada, and the UK.
