Olivia Rodrigo’s second studio album was a long time coming and we finally know what to expect when it comes out. The Grammy winner shared a full tracklist of her sophomore studio album, which includes a total of 12 brand-new songs.
Rodrigo dropped hints about possible tracklist in a cryptic video on Instagram, which showed her lounging around her room and doing chores. Many clues were hiding in plain sight in this Easter eggs-filled clip, but Rodrigo’s fans only managed to spot a few song titles, such as “Bad Idea Right?” and “The Grudge”.
She didn’t keep them in suspense for too long and shared the full tracklist just a day later. Guts will feature a total of 12 songs, including the chart-topping lead single “Vampire”, along with such tracks as “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl”, “Love Is Embarrassing”, and “Get Him Back!”.
Rodrigo officially announced the release of Guts back in June and said it captures the period of her life that was filled with lots of confusion, mistakes, awkwardness, and good old-fashioned teen angst.
“I made the bulk of this album during my 19th year on this earth… I feel like I grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20 – it was such an intense period of awkwardness and change. I think that’s all just a natural part of growth, and hopefully the album reflects that,” she said in a statement.
Guts serves as the follow-up to Rodrigo’s acclaimed debut studio album Sour, and it will be released on September 8 through Geffen Records.
