Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire” has been steadily climbing up the UK Singles Chart since its release in June, and it finally reached the top! It became her third single to top the charts in this country, helping Rodrigo set the record as the female solo artist with the most no. 1 singles in the UK this decade.

Originally released on June 30, “Vampire” immediately debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but it took a while before it climbed to the top in the UK. Its steady climb to no. 1 was stopped by several songs from Barbie: The Album, but it finally managed to reach the top last week, becoming Rodrigo’s third song to do so, following “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U”.

“Vampire” also transformed Rodrigo into a female solo artist with most songs to top the chart in the UK during the 2020s, but she recently told The Guardian she was never too concerned about breaking records.

“It’s not attainable to try to beat yourself. It felt like lightning in a bottle. Anything public, charting, no. 1s, all the records – that’s just so beyond my control so there’s no point in worrying about it,” explained Rodrigo.

“Vampire” serves as the lead single from the singer’s highly-anticipated sophomore studio album Guts, set to hit the shelves on September 8.
