Olivia Rodrigo really kept us waiting for her new music, and we’re finally ready to sink our teeth into her next single! The Grammy-winning singer announced the start of her next era with the comeback single “Vampire”, set to come out later this month.
The “Good 4 U” singer teased the release of her next song by sharing cover art on social media, which shows her side profile in black and white. The only vibrant thing in the picture are two purple band-aids on her neck, meant to signify the place of a vampire’s bite.
Rodrigo’s announcement inspired an avalanche of funny comments on social media, with Twilight’s official Instagram account writing, “been waiting for this day!!!!! 😭 dreams really do come true.” Some fans commented with the quotes from the beloved movie, while fellow singer Conan Gray wrote, “I know what you are…”
“Vampire” will be released on June 30, as the lead single from Rodrigo’s upcoming sophomore studio album. It’s her first release since her debut album Sour, which came out in 2021 and produced hit singles “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U”, becoming the first debut album in history to have two songs debut atop the Billboard 100 chart.
