Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour is one of the defining albums of 2021, and its chart reign continues months after it originally came out. The Disney star scored her fifth week atop the Billboard 200 chart, following the vinyl release of her debut album.

Sour was originally released on May 21st and easily topped Billboard 200 with the biggest first week of 2021. It also had the biggest streaming week for a debut album by a female artist and the second-biggest streaming week for an album by a female artist, behind Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next.

This week marks the fifth time that Sour returned atop the Billboard 200 chart, and this is not a coincidence. This success is the result of the album’s vinyl release, and 76,000 out of 133,000 equivalent album units that Sour earned this week happen to be vinyl sales.

Rodrigo’s most recent chart triumph comes shortly after she dropped a viral music video for the fan-favorite song “Brutal”. This track was featured on Sour, together with the hit singles “Drivers License”, “Deja Vu”, “Good 4 U”, and “Traitor”.
