The Dune reboot is adding to its cast.

The latest casting news are that Oscar Isaac is in talks to star in a lead role.

The upcoming Dune reboot comes from Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 filmmaker Denis Villeneuve. Adapting the 1965 science-fiction novel by Frank Herbert to the big-screen is Villeneuve who will co-write the script with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts.

Should he join, Isaac will star opposite the previously announced Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgard, and Charlotte Rampling.

Issac is in talks to star as Duke Leto Atreides, father to Chalamet’s character Paul Atreides. Ferguson has been cast as Chalamet’s mother, Lady Jessica, while Skarsgard has been cast as the family’s nemesis Baron Harkonnen.

The reboot is the latest adaptation to the sci-fi novel but far from being the first. First to try was director Alejandro Jodorowsky in the ‘70s. Then came David Lynch’s adaptation in 1984 and finally the most recent adaptation in the form of a mini-series for SyFy.
