Owen Wilson will be part of another Disney project after previously starring in the superhero series Loki. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wilson signed on to star in the studio’s upcoming movie The Haunted Mansion.

The feature will be based on Disney theme park’s iconic attraction of the same name and is set to start filming this fall. Justin Simien (Dear White People) will direct from a script penned by Katie Dippold (Snatched).

Besides Wilson, the list of other confirmed cast members includes Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, and Tiffany Haddish. The story of the movie is still being kept under wraps, but we should expect lots of ghosts and other supernatural creatures in all shapes and forms.

The project follows the highly successful movie adaptation of the Disney theme park ride Jungle Cruise. The feature, which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt, proved to be a huge box office hit and has already warranted a sequel.

The Haunted Mansion attraction was previously adapted to film in 2003 with Eddie Murphy in the leading role. The movie did solid in the theaters but was universally panned by the critics.

Back in 2010, Academy Award-winning director Guillermo del Toro expressed interest in doing a new The Haunted Mansion movie. He even wrote the script, but the project never took off.
