Paramount+ is cleaning house right now and they canceled several shows in recent months as a part of their cost-cutting efforts. The neo-western crime drama Joe Pickett is the latest Paramount+ show to get the boot after two seasons on air.

Based on C. J. Box’s series of over 20 novels, Joe Pickett centers on the titular game warden, who’s based in a small town in Wyoming with his family. The series shows the Picketts navigate the shifting sociopolitical climate of a small rural town on the verge of economic collapse, located in the surrounding wilderness of Yellowstone National Park.

Michael Dorman led the series as Joe Pickett, while the supporting cast included Julianna Guill as his wife Marybeth, Sharon Lawrence as her mother Missy Vankeuren, along with David Alan Grier, Mustafa Speaks, Paul Sparks, Skywalker Hughes, Kamryn Pliva, and David Alan Grier.

Joe Pickett originally premiered on Spectrum Originals in 2021, before moving to Paramount+ for the second season. Despite the cancelation, it will stay available on this streaming service. It’s the latest series to be canceled by Paramount+ as the streamer tries to cut costs, following in the footsteps of Fatal Attraction and Rabbit Hole, which have both been canceled just last week.
