If the recent Spice Girls reunion tour wasn’t enough to quench your thirst for the legendary girl group, we’ve got some good news for you. Paramount Animation is in the early stages of developing a movie inspired by the iconic ‘90s girl group.
According to Mireille Soria, president of Paramount Animation, Melanie Brown (Scary), Emma Bunton (Baby), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty), Geri Halliwell (Ginger) and Victoria Beckham (Posh) are all on board and “very involved” in this project.
Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith are in charge of writing the screenplay, and Simon Fuller is coming on board to produce the movie. In addition to featuring Spice Girls classics we all know and love, the upcoming animated feature will also include brand-new songs.
Spice Girls recently came back together and embarked on a reunion tour across the UK and Ireland. They scheduled a total of 13 shows, concluding on June 15th at Wembley Stadium in London. Victoria Beckham was the only one unable to join the tour, due to commitments regarding her fashion business.
