Another G.I. Joe film is en route.

Paramount Pictures is working on a new film in the franchise based on Hasbro’s action figure toy line. The announcement of a fourth installment comes a few months before the third movie in the franchise, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is set to premiere.

The studio is in negotiations to tap the talents of writing duo Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse to pen the script. Transformers franchise producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is returning to produce. Snake Eyes and Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding will take the lead role. The film directed by Robert Schwentke is slated to open October 23.

The film franchise was launched in 2009. The first two films, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra grossed a combined $678 million at the worldwide box office.
