Party Down Limited Revival Confirmed by Starz

Party Down is set to make a return to television more than a decade after its cancellation. Starz recently announced that a limited revival is in development with the original creator and the majority of the cast being on board.

The project is still in the early stages but it is believed that the network plans to make six episodes.

According to the show’s co-creator Rob Thomas, the idea for the revival came after the Party Down cast and production team got together for a one-time reunion special hosted by Vulture.

“We had such a good time that we wanted to find a way to get the team back together again,” said Thomas in the statement. “The cast is so busy these days that finding a window where we can do it may require trigonometry, but we’re determined to make it happen.”

Party Down premiered in 2009 and focused on a catering team full of aspiring actors, writers, and comedians who wanted to make it in Hollywood. While waiting for their big break, they were making ends meet working in the food service. The series ran for 20 episodes, with each episode focusing on a new event that the team has to tackle.

Party Down was a big hit with the critics, with the second season currently owning a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite this, Starz canceled the show in 2010 due to poor ratings.
