Jimmy Fallon had Paul Rudd as his first guest on the show Fallon Five, a five-minute version of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Before Rudd came on the show, Fallon talked about the highlights of the week including some memorable moments of the Winter Olympics and The 2018 NBA All-Star Game.

Fallon explained that “[Yesterday was] day 11 of the Winter Olympics, but it [was] day 12 of Fergie’s National Anthem,” referencing to Fergie’s sexy and sultry cover of the American National Anthem. This performance of the National Anthem has had mostly negative reviews from critics.

Afterwards, he introduced “the first ever The Tonight Show’s one minute interview” with Paul Rudd. Rudd went on the show to promote his new film, Mute (2018) which premieres on Netflix on February 23rd, 2018.

Fallon bombarded Rudd with many questions about his new Netflix film, without giving Rudd the proper time to effectively answer the questions. The five-minute segment ended with Fallon and Rudd singing “Shout” by The Isely Brothers.

The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon returns on NBC on February 26th, 2018.
