Peacock renewed Bumper in Berlin shortly after its premiere, but they eventually changed their tune. The Pitch Perfect spin-off series led by Adam DeVine has been canceled amid the ongoing Hollywood strikes despite its initial renewal for Season 2.

Inspired by the beloved musical franchise Pitch Perfect, Bumper in Berlin reunited us with Adam DeVine’s character Bumper Allen. This series takes place several years after the events of Pitch Perfect and sees Bumper trying to revive his music career in Germany after one of his songs becomes a surprise hit in this country.

Bumper in Berlin reunited DeVine with his former Modern Family co-star Sarah Hyland, and it also starred Jameela Jamil, Lera Abova, Flula Borg, and Katharina Thalbach. The series initially premiered in November last year, and Peacock was quick to renew it after it scored the biggest comedy premiere in the streamer’s history.

Since this series was clearly a strong performer for Peacock, its cancelation is most likely caused by the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which delayed its production, forcing it to miss its target release date. Several beloved shows experienced a similar fate, including Prime Video’s The Peripheral and A League of Their Own.
