After four John Wick films, this action franchise is expanding even further, with several spinoff films and series in the works. The Continental will be the first to see the light of day, and Peacock just dropped the first teaser trailer for this highly-anticipated series.

According to its official logline, The Continental will “explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind.”

Colin Woodell will play the lead role in this project, while the rest of the cast will include Ayomide Adegun, Peter Greene, Mel Gibson, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, and Nhung Kate. It was developed by Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, and Shawn Simmons, and it’s expected to premiere on Peacock this September.

The Continental will be the first offshoot project inspired by the John Wick films, but it won’t be the last. The spinoff film Ballerina starring Ana de Armas will hit the theatres next year, and several more films are in the early stages of development but they’re yet to be confirmed.
