Seth MacFarlane gave us one of the defining comedies of the 2010s with Ted, and there’s more where that came from! Peacock developed an event comedy series set in the same universe, and they just dropped the first teaser trailer for this promising prequel.
The short teaser takes us three decades back into the past, to 1993 when Ted was still a young bear full of hope. He’s trying to build a normal life while living with 16-year-old John Bennett and his family in the small town of Framingham, Massachusetts.
It’s crystal clear that Ted is a lousy influence on John, but he’s also doing his best to be a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for their friendship.
In addition to MacFarlane as the voice of Ted, the cast will include Max Burkholder as John Bennett, Alanna Ubach as his mother Susan Bennett, Scott Grimes as his father Matty Bennett, and Giorgia Whigham as his cousin Blaire, who lives with the Bennetts while attending a college nearby.
Ted will debut on Peacock with a supersized premiere on January 11, 2024, and it will feature a total of seven episodes. In addition to voicing Ted, MacFarlane serves as the show’s creator, director, executive producer, and co-writer.
