Peacock has given us one of the buzziest shows since its launch with Girls5Eva, and they’re not letting go of it. NBCUniversal’s streaming service renewed this critically acclaimed musical comedy for its second season.

Lisa Katz, the president of scripted content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, announced the renewal of this show in an official statement and said they’re excited to continue Girls5eva alongside this incredibly talented cast and producers.

“This aspirational comeback story is filled with heart and friendship, perfectly blended with catchy songs and humor, and delivered by an exceptionally versatile cast. We look forward to following this group’s journey as they continue to hit just the right notes,” said Katz.

Girls5eva was created by Meredith Scardino and executive produced by Tina Fey, with Sara Bareilles, Busy Philipps, Paula Pell, and Renée Elise Goldsberry playing the leads. It premiered on Peacock back in May, and it centers on members of a 90s girl group trying to make a comeback after one of their songs becomes a surprise hit thanks to an up-and-coming rapper who sampled it.
