The adaptation of the hit video game Twisted Metal was a long time coming, and Peacock finally gave its fans what they’ve been asking for. The post-apocalyptic action-comedy series based on the beloved video game premiered on Peacock earlier this year, and it’s just been renewed for Season 2.

Twisted Metal centers on a motor-mouthed outsider John Doe, who must deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland for a chance at a better life. He’ll face many dangers on the open road alongside the axe-wielding car thief Quiet, including a deranged clown Sweet Tooth, who drives a sinister ice cream truck.

Twisted Metal is led by the Marvel star Anthony Mackie, while the main cast also includes Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Thomas Haden Church.

Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith thanked Twisted Metal fans for their “love, support, and rabid enthusiasm” and promised things will get even wilder in Season 2.

“We are beyond thankful we get to continue the story of John Doe, Quiet, and Sweet Tooth as they face off against familiar faces and new grim foes in the long-awaited Twisted Metal tournament. The mixtape is made, and I’m thrilled to get back on the road with our stellar cast and crew,” said Jonathan in a statement.
