Peacock has given us one of the most intriguing true crime medical dramas with Dr. Death, and its next chapter is just around the corner. The streamer dropped the first teaser trailer for Season 2 of this anthology series, starring Édgar Ramírez as Paolo Macchiarini.

Season 2 of Dr. Death centers on “Miracle Man” Paolo Macchiarini (Ramírez), a charming surgeon renowned for his innovative operations. Investigative journalist Benita Alexander (Mandy Moore) approaches him for a story, but the line between personal and professional quickly starts to blur as they get closer.

Her life gets forever changed as she learns more about Macchiarini and how far he’s willing to go to protect his secrets. To make things even more complicated, a group of doctors halfway across the world make shocking discoveries, calling everything about Macchiarini into question.

In addition to Ramírez and Moore, Season 2 of Dr. Death will also star Rita Volk, Judy Reyes, Jack Davenport, Annika Boras, and Sandra Andreis. Jennifer Morrison directed the first four episodes, while Laura Belsey was in charge of helming the second half. Ashley Michel Hoban serves as the series’ new showrunner, taking over from Patrick Macmanus.

The second season of Dr. Death will feature a total of eight episodes, set to premiere on Peacock on December 21.
