“Peaky Blinders” Star Helen McCrory Passed Away at 52

After giving us one amazing performance after another for three decades, the Peaky Blinders star Helen McCrory passed away at the age of 52. Fans and co-stars bid farewell to the acclaimed British actress and sent condolences to her loved ones.

McCrory’s passing was announced by her husband and fellow actor Damian Lewis, who said she died after a “heroic battle with cancer” and added she spent her last days surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family.

“She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now Little One, into the air, and thank you,” wrote Lewis in the official statement.

Many of McCrory’s colleagues celebrated her legacy and shared heartwarming stories of their time working together. The tributes were led by her Peaky Blinders co-star Cillian Murphy, Harry Potter castmates Tom Felton and Jason Isaacs, and author J.K. Rowling.

McCrory was best known for playing Polly Gray on Peaky Blinders and Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise. Her career spanned three decades, and also included roles in the TV shows North Square and Penny Dreadful, and the movies The Queen, The Special Relationship, and Hugo.
