We’re getting nothing but good news from the Star Wars universe these days, and the latest is connected to upcoming spin-off series The Mandalorian. Pedro Pascal will lead the way in this intriguing project, which is set to premiere on new streaming service Disney+.

He’s been cast as a lone gunfighter, whose adventures take place in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic. He hails from the planet Mandalore, which was once home of notorious bounty hunters Boba Fett and Jango Fett.

Iron Man director Jon Favreau will serve as a writer and executive producer of this spin-off series. This won’t be his first collaboration with Walt Disney Studios. He directed The Jungle Book live-action remake in 2016 and was entrusted to do the same with The Lion King, which is set to premiere next year.

Pedro Pascal rose to prominence with the role of charming Dornish prince Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones. He later played one of the main parts in Netflix crime drama Narcos, before being cast in Kingsman: The Golden Circle and The Equalizer 2. We will soon see him in another big blockbuster – superhero flick Wonder Woman 1984.
