HBO and BBC collaborated and gave us one of the most underrated new show of the year with Gentleman Jack, and we still haven’t seen the last of it. This critically acclaimed period drama is officially coming back for Season 2.

Gentleman Jack centers on trailblazing industrialist Anne Lister, whose personal life was as fascinating as her professional achievements. She’s often been described as “the first modern lesbian” thanks to her disregard for social norms and unique fashion sense that was anything but conventional.

This historical drama stars Suranne Jones as Anne Lister and Sophie Rundle as her lover Ann Walker. It was created by Sally Wainwright who was head over heels after learning she can continue exploring this fascinating story.

“I’m utterly delighted that we’ve been recommissioned because there are so many more big, bold stories to tell about Anne Lister and Ann Walker. A massive thank you to the BBC and HBO and to everyone at Lookout Point,” said Wainwright in a statement.
