Judd Apatow helped some of the biggest names in the world of comedy get where they are today, and he wants to do the same for Pete Davidson. The young Saturday Night Live star will play the lead role in his upcoming film.

This untitled project will be set in Staten Island and based on Davidson’s coming of age in the forgotten borough of New York City. The young comedian co-wrote the script for this project with Apatow, which makes total sense since it’s based on the experiences he’s actually went through.

Pete Davidson is no stranger to working with this famous comedy director. He made a small cameo in his previous movie Trainwreck, which was written by Amy Schumer and starred another Saturday Night Live veteran – Bill Hader.

Not much is known about the upcoming Davidson-Appatow collaboration at this point in time, and it’s title is yet to be announced. It is expected to start production in May or June this year.
