The gripping thriller Fair Play made quite a splash when it premiered at Sundance this winter, and its release date is just around the corner. Netflix teased the film’s release by dropping a brand-new trailer for this highly-anticipated movie, starring Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich.
Fair Play centers on a young couple whose relationship is pushed to the brink following an unexpected promotion at a cutthroat hedge fund. The power dynamic in their relationship irrevocably shifts after this promotion, threatening to unravel far more than their recent engagement.
In addition to Dynevor and Ehrenreich, Fair Play also stars Eddie Marsan, Rich Sommer, Sebastian de Souza, and Geraldine Somerville. It was written and directed by Chloe Domont, who’ll make her feature directorial debut with this project.
The production team includes Leopold Hughes and Ben LeClair for T-Street, Tim White, Trevor White, and Allan Mandelbaum for Star Thrower, while Ram Bergman and Rian Johnson of T-Street came on board as executive producers.
Fair Play had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival back in January, where it was met with positive reviews. Netflix acquired the movie for $20 million and they’ll give it a limited theatrical release on September 29 before it heads to their streaming service on October 6.
