The beloved Netflix drama Bridgerton will feature many familiar faces when it returns for Season 3, but Daphne Basset won’t be one of them. Phoebe Dynevor confirmed her exit ahead of the show’s third season after completing her contract obligations with the streamer.

Dynevor is currently busy promoting the thriller Fair Play, which recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and she spilled some tea in an interview with Variety. She revealed she won’t appear in Season 3 of Bridgerton, but added she’s excited to watch as a viewer.

“Well, I did my two seasons. I’ve done what I wanted to do with that character and she had a great arc. If they ask me back in the future, who knows?” she explained.

After being one of the main characters in the show’s first season, Dynevor only made sporadic appearances throughout Season 2 as the show moved on to a different love story. She isn’t the first major cast member to leave Bridgerton. Regé-Jean Page, who played her love interest the Duke of Hastings, left the show after Season 1.

Season 3 of Bridgerton will premiere on Netflix later this year, and it will center on Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), whose life-long friendship will finally grow into something bigger and more meaningful.
