Pippa Middleton Welcomes First Child With James Matthews

The Duchess of Cambridge is officially an aunt!

Pippa Middleton, sister of Kate Middleton, has given birth to her first child with husband James Matthews. The couple’s 8 lbs., 9 oz. baby boy was welcomed into the world on Monday at 1:58 p.m. local time. 

According to The Daily Mail, “Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well.”

Pippa gave birth in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital just as her sister did. Kate, the mother of three adorable royal children was is sure to be a source of advice and comfort to first-time mom Pippa. 

Pippa and her husband, James, were married on May 20 of last year at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield. The couple confirmed the pregnancy back in the spring, tell sources they are looking forward to settling down and “having children and leading a quiet life.”

The then preggo Pippa told Waitrose Kitchen that she “was lucky to pass the 12-week scan without suffering from morning sickness,” which meant that she was able to “carry on as normal.” “I’ve noticed my body change, but through exercise, I feel it’s being strengthened,” she added.
