2021 has been a great year for hip-hop on the Billboard 200 chart, and this week has given us yet another no. 1 rap album. Polo G reached the top with his third LP Hall of Fame—his first album to ever reach no. 1 on this chart.

With 143,000 equivalent album units earned during its first week on the chart, Hall of Fame easily reached the top spot. It was closely followed by Migos’ Culture III, while the previous no. 1 albums Sour by Olivia Rodrigo, The Voice of the Heroes by Lil Durk and Lil Baby, and Dangerous: The Double Album by Morgan Wallen rounded the top 5.

The success of Hall of Fame isn’t Polo G’s first triumph on the Billboard charts this year. His hit single “Rapstar” previously became his first song to ever hit no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 after debuting atop this chart following its release.

Hall of Fame hit the shelves on June 11th, and “Rapstar” is just one of 20 tracks it has in store. The album features a number of epic collaborations, with the likes of Lil Durk, Lil Wayne, DaBaby, Young Thug, Roddy Ricch, Nicki Minaj, and Pop Smoke.
