Post Malone really kept us waiting for his new music, but his first new single of 2023 is finally here. He dropped a pop-infused new song “Chemical”, which sees him struggling to come to terms with the end of a tumultuous relationship.

The video opens with Post Malone smoking inside his car while singing, “Outside of the party smoking in the car with you/Seven nation army fighting at the bar with you.” As the music video proceeds, he can be seen dancing in front of several different fake backgrounds, ranging from a desert to a beach and everything in between.

“Chemical” is Post Malone’s first release of 2023, and he shared it with the world just a few days after teasing new music on social media. It will serve as the lead single on his upcoming fifth studio album, but he’s yet to share its title and release date.

Post Malone’s last album Twelve Carat Toothache hit the shelves in June last year, and it produced singles “One Right Now” ft. The Weeknd, “Cooped Up” ft. Roddy Ricch, and “I Like You (A Happier Song)” ft Doja Cat. He’s currently working on its follow-up and gearing up for his upcoming European tour.
