The remake of the classic 2000s spy comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith is coming to Amazon Prime Video this winter, and its release date is no longer a mystery. The streaming giant announced a February release date for this highly-anticipated series, led by Donald Glover and Maya Erskine.

According to its official synopsis, Mr. & Mrs. Smith follows two lonely strangers, who work for a mysterious spy agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage, wealth, and world travels. Their lives become more difficult when they’re forced to assume new identities and enter an arranged marriage as Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Smith.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith draws inspiration from Doug Liman’s 2005 film of the same name, which starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Despite having a similar premise, the series will offer a fresh take on the source material, according to its star and co-creator Donald Glover.

“It’s definitely going to be different for a lot of people, which I think is good. You can always go back and watch the old one, but this one gives you a different feeling. People are definitely going to be shocked,” Glover told Entertainment Weekly.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 2, and it will feature a total of eight episodes.
