The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken the next step.

There’s a new addition to the royal family: a pup! The couple has reportedly adopted a Labrador earlier in the summer.

Dog lover Meghan fits right in with the royal family who has always had dogs around. This must be an exciting time for the Duchess who had to leave one of her pets, Bogart, behind when she moved to when the couple got engaged. The rescue dog was given to friends. Her beloved beagle, however, did make it across the Atlantic and resides in London.

The dog’s name has yet to be announced and Kensington Palace declined to comment on the matter.

Queen Elizabeth herself is an avid lover of dogs. She was gifted her first corgi Susan when she was 18 and began a corgi breeding program after that. Just a few months ago, the monarch had to put down the last of her corgis, Willow, who was14th generation royal corgi.

The new pup has joined the couple for their country getaways in the Cotswolds area and Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace in London, a source says.
