Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been busy conquering Hollywood in recent years, but this doesn’t mean she forgot about her roots. Chopra Jonas just announced on social media that she is plotting a return to Bollywood with the movie Jee Le Zaraa.
The movie will be directed by Farhan Akhtar and also features Indian star actresses Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt as co-leads. The project is scheduled to enter production at some point in 2022 and is described as a “road trip” film.
Chopra Jonas shared more details in an Instagram post, writing that she wanted to do a female-led movie with Kaif and Bhatt for some time now. The trio met in February 2020 to discuss potential projects and settled on Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa.
“This one is to sisterhood… to friendship and to breaking the mould!! Can’t wait to get on the road with Aloo and Katty. My heart’s smiling,” Chopra Jonas concluded the social media post which included a photo of her alongside Kaif and Bhatt.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas last starred in a Bollywood movie in 2019, when she played the lead in Shonali Bose’s comedy-drama The Sky Is Pink. After that, she starred in Netflix’s projects We Can Be Heroes and White Tiger while also being part of the cast for the fourth Matrix movie.
