Queen Latifah Protects Others from Danger in “The Equalizer” Teaser

CBS has released a 30-second teaser for The Equalizer starring Queen Latifah.

The series is a reimagining of the 1980s show of the same name which starred Edward Woodward. Latifah plays Robyn McCall, a single mother with a mysterious background who uses her skills to protect and defend others.

In the teaser, we see Latifah’s character and her daughter, Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes). “What’s up with you, mom? Out of nowhere you quit your job last month, you wanna talk about it?” Delilah asks in the clip and Robyn responds, “It’s complicated.”

Also in the teaser is Chris Noth, who plays an ex-CIA director. “This new side gig of yours is raising questions to the CIA,” Noth’s character says. “I don’t work for them anymore,” Robyn responds.

Rounding out the cast are Tory Kittles, Lorraine Toussaint, Liza Lapira, and Adam Goldberg.

This marks the second reboot of The Equalizer franchise—it follows the 2014 films starring Denzel Washington and its 2018 sequel.

In addition to starring in the series, Latifah co-created it alongside one of the creators of the original series, Richard Lindheim. John Davis, John Fox, Debra Martin Chase, Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller serve as executive producers.

The series is set to premiere on February 7 after the Super Bowl. Check out the teaser below.
