We’re slowly being more enlightened about the upcoming Black Widow film.

After years and years of waiting, Scarlett Johansson’s Marvel character will finally get to headline her own movie.

But it seems she won’t be doing it solo.

According to Rachel Weisz, who also stars, there will be more than one “Black Widow”.

It appears as though the name will be the title given to an assassin such as Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff and Weisz’s own Melina.

“There are quite a number. I’m a Black Widow and there’s Scarlett and Florence [Pugh]. There’s quite a bit of other characters you’ll also meet that are Black Widows,” she told IGN.

Pugh will be playing Yelena and has described the story as sensitive, raw, and honest.

Jac Schaeffer of The Hustle has penned the screenplay which will be helmed by Lore director, Cate Shortland.

Black Widow is out on May 1st, 2020.
